To access NDIS-funded support through Kind Path, you first need to be approved as an NDIS participant. Here's what you need to know.

NDIS eligibility requirements

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) determines eligibility. To be eligible, you generally need to:

  • Be under 65 years of age when you first apply
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa
  • Have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities
  • Require support from a person or specialised equipment because of your disability

Note: Eligibility is determined by the NDIA, not by providers like Kind Path. We can help you understand the process, but the final decision rests with the NDIA.

What counts as a disability?

The NDIS supports people with a wide range of disabilities, including:

  • Physical disability and mobility impairment
  • Intellectual disability
  • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • Acquired brain injury (ABI)
  • Vision or hearing impairment
  • Psychosocial disability (associated with a mental health condition)
  • Neurological conditions
  • Developmental delay (children under 6)

How to apply

You can apply to become an NDIS participant by:

  1. Calling the NDIS on 1800 800 110
  2. Completing an Access Request Form (available from the NDIS website)
  3. Visiting your local NDIS office or a Local Area Coordinator (LAC)

You'll need supporting evidence from a treating health professional (such as your GP, specialist, or allied health provider) to confirm your disability and its impact on your life.

Already have a plan?

If you're already an NDIS participant with an approved plan, you can start using Kind Path's services right away. Just get in touch, and we'll take it from there.
